Players can choose which class they'd like to play as. There are 8 classes to choose from (3 more with TotemMod by the TSG), one for each player slot. Each comes with their own starting item(s) and a unique passive ability. As of January 2024, all classes will be max level (30) and with all customizations unlocked. Each class typically has a very unique look with distinct features, although it can be easy to mistake The Chaplain for The Navigator.
The Captain[]
Starting Item(s): Sabre, Tea, Coal
Passive Ability: Increases ship turn speed by 50% at max level.
Appearance: Large build, light skinned, short gray hair and mutton chops, no facial hair, blue clothing, & no gloves.
The Chaplain[]

Passive Ability: Increases likeliness of trinkets while looting by 7% at max level.
Appearance: Light build, light skinned, short black hair, no facial hair, black clothing, & no gloves.
The Cook[]
Starting Item(s): Meat Cleaver, Meat Stew, Coal
Passive Ability: Increases cooking speed when using a stove by 50% at max level.
Appearance: Large build, light skinned, short brown hair, brown facial hair, white clothing, & no gloves.
The Doctor[]
Starting Item(s): Meat Cleaver, Syringe, Laudanum, Coal
Passive Ability: Carried players die slower & efficiency of healing items by 60% at max level.
Appearance: Medium build, light skinned, short blonde hair and mutton chops, yellow clothing, & no gloves.
The Engineer[]
Starting Item(s): Wood Axe, Barrel, Coal, Ice Axe [Former]
Passive Ability: Increases repair/craft speed at workbenches & hole repair speed by 30% at max level.
Appearance: Medium build, light skinned, no hair, red facial hair, blue clothing, & black gloves.
The Hunter[]
Starting Item(s): Bow, Arrow x4, Bear Trap x2, Coal, Wood Axe (Former)
Passive Ability: Increases harvest speed from all corpses by 30% at max level.
Appearance: Large build, fair skinned, long black hair, no facial hair, brown clothing, & brown gloves.

Passive Ability: Increases reload speed on firearms (Flintlock Pistol & Musket) by 30% at max level.

Hannibal the half cannibal (Totem Mod)[]
Starting Item(s): Bonedagger (melee weapon - not magical)
Passive Ability: Takes reduced damage from animals and cannibals.
